The narrow waterway between the island and the rocky walls of the lake, leads to the rest underground lake. In the area of Mellisani there have been many excavations that brought to light important findings, mainly 3rd and 4th century BC, attesting the worship of the god Pan and the presence of female figures, known as Nymphs.
